Sharing the Bubble
Does each of us live in a bubble?

Snuggling
deep in a safe place
protecting our joy..

Inside this bubble
do we have a dream
we would like to share?

Is it to be closer to someone?

Is it to love our selves more in someone else?

Possibly
we can find a way...

In Asia they believe the deepest sense of self
comes through your family

with roots going way back

through countless generations

and the reincarnated wisdom of ancestors

as little lamas.

I believe

something connects us all

beyond anyone's wildest dreams.

and the key
is very simple.
This winter
in Ha Noi

artists joined together

at the Maison des Arts

in a salon
painting portraits
which became a kind of listening project.

While staring
we began to find

surprising beauties

within
and our painting

led others

to find new beauty in themselves

and so, we found
coming out of our old shells

the world's our oyster!

Back home now
with thanks again
to Nga, who brought
the dream out, alive

love and hugs

Tiger Love

I see tomorrow is Valentine's Day

a time for love
treats

starting off the early Spring with generative fests like Lupercalia
and Tet.
Tomorrow also opens the year of the metal tiger

full of the fierce energy of love

to save us all
with love's eternal forgiveness
and protection through grace.
With
blessings

in abundance:

May you dance through this year with Ganesh
finding your shining path
happy, joyous, and free
with love

Belleville

Only a little jet lagged

Marya and I found our way
further down George V
to the very busy American Cathedral

where Toasty, her sister, was first married

in the chapel on the other side

and our host, a local opera singer
(long after appearing as Holofernes
in a Merchant Ivory film)

showed us to his exquisite rooms
where he has opened a place for himself
in the attic

and we took him out to dinner with a cat

at his favorite local restaurant
around the corner
from the most beautiful view of Paris
afforded by Belleville
and we found the clouds opening
on I.M.Pei's pyramid at the Louvre

on our way to see Bonnard's looser views

and Surtout la Table
at the Musée d'Orsay

where we accidentally came upon shadow figures
for La Chat Noir writers' nightclub

and Cezanne's dream
amused
by Odalisque
until we began to levitate

for our train to Austria
with love
and hugs

yunan project

From Lan Lan Wang's Yunan Project
now at this year's Smithsonian
International Folklife Festival
until July 7..

Marya and I took overnight Amtraks
back and forth
to spend all day Thursday in D.C.
and are blown away
after dancing with Thai
watching Mekong

eating with Irish Mummers
and watching Virginians
waltzing
with love and hugs
